Kia Octaviano RD

Registered Dietitian

Kia received her Bachelor’s of Science from the California State University of Long Beach and completed her didactic internship at Oakwood University. Kia continually seeks additional education and training opportunities to further her understanding of mental health and eating disorders. She is currently participating in ongoing training to become a Body Trust Provider.

Kia has been working in the mental health field since 2014 and has supported clients who struggle with eating disorders, disordered eating patterns, negative body image, and body dysmorphia, as well other mental health challenges like depression, and anxiety, and substance abuse. Kia has experience working in various clinical settings including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and mental health residential facilities.

Kia’s philosophy on nutrition and food include: All Foods Fit, Intuitive Eating, Health At Every Size, and Body Acceptance At Every Size. It is Kia’s goal to help clients to learn, understand, and accept these philosophies in their recovery and life. With these concepts she hopes to help her clients turn to themselves with more compassion and grace, providing them a strong root of support they can utilize on their healing journey.

Kia’s goal is to help individuals recover from the destructive eating habits that affect their mental health, relationships, and overall quality of life.

Through her work with clients, she hopes to create a space to help them radically accept the truth that their bodies are worthy.
